Overcoming Cultural and Service Gaps for Members of Tribal Communities in the Criminal Justice System

15 Wed
March 2017

Wednesday, March 15 at 1 PM ET a webinar will be hosted by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. It will discuss members of tribal communities who are dealing with behavioral health issues are often incarcerated rather than receiving recovery-oriented services in their communities. Frequently, this lack of access can be attributed to cultural and service gaps that exist between tribal-delivered services and services available outside the tribe, particularly those services that interface with the criminal justice system. This webinar will address how a collaborative response can expand services and create partnerships for a more recovery-oriented continuum of services for members of tribal communities.
