The Family-Youth Initiative Webinar

6 Wed
March 2013

The Family-Youth Initiative (FYI) is a unique partnership between the Vera Institute of Justice's Family Justice Program, and the PbS Learning Institute to help facilities and agencies gauge their ability to engage families and connect youths with supportive adults who can help them meet their goals. By implementing the PbS family engagement standards, juvenile justice agencies will learn how an intentional focus on family connections yields positive results for youths, staff, families and communities.

This webinar is a follow-up to the CJCA Best Practices Committee presentation given at the CJCA Winter Business meeting in Houston this past January. Ryan Shanahan will discuss the development of the Juvenile Relational Inquiry Tool (JRIT), which was designed to help facility staff engage youths about their family and social supports and highlight research findings. Kim Godfrey will give an overview of PbS and the lessons learned about family engagement during the pilot of the newest set of standards in the states of Ohio and Indiana.

You can register for this webinar which will take place from 2:00 P.M to 3:00 P.M EST on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
